10 hours from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur

Date 18 November I start by saying always check if there is a general election before travelling into a country. Then you are prepared by booking transportation early.  As we are not in a rush we did not want to fly but wanted to get the train across the border. However with Malaysians flocking home to vote on 19 November, the train was fully booked. So the journey between Singapore and Malaysia was tiring and grim.  There were many parts to the journey: In singapore: Walk to train to get to border Board bus to get to immigration (bun fight of bags, arms and legs)  Once through get on another bus to Malaysia (more chaos)  In Malaysia Go through customs Board another bus to go to bus terminal (more chaos)  Board coach for 4 hrs 30 bus journey to Kuala Lumpur Change to board train to hotel When we come back its either train or fly 😬 On a positive note it was as cheap as chips.

48 hours in Singapore

We landed very early at 6.15am. Amazing service at Changi Airport - within 45 minutes of landing we were off the plane, traveled the transfer train, through customs, picked up our luggage and then on the train to the city. Super efficient Singaporeans. We stayed at the same hotel as our last trip in 2018 (D'Hotel). Good standard and reasonably priced. Not in the centre but very easy to hop back and forwards on the MRT to the bayfront.  On arrival we did get an early check in but had to twiddle our thumbs for 3 hours until we got into our room. After 13 hours flight and only 25 minutes sleep, jetlag started to kick in.  I felt like the earth was shaking. πŸ˜‚ I've been told many times that you should stay up for as long as possible the day you arrive. Very sorry but by 11am I was showered and in bed asleepπŸ›Œ for about 5 hours. Which was great at the time, until it was time to go to bed later. That's the fun of long haul travel. 😴 As we've been here...

The journey begins

Finally, after 3 years of waiting I'm excited to be travelling long haul again ✈️. I decided to take a career break for a few months to return to Asia 🌏. Watch out for weird and wonderful photos πŸ“· along the way which I will also capture in my blog - tracystravels.blog. First stop Singapore with my super small luggage πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬ #careerbreak #Asia #Singapore
