50 something on her travels

This happened when George joined me in the swimming pool. He realised too late that his wallet was in his back pocket. Everything survived except our return Heathrow to Oxford coach tickets. He laid them on the bedside table in the vain hope the washed away ink would reappear by magic 🤔.  A very expensive £50 mistake! There will be much internal swearing and cursing when he has to pay again 😂.  **Update** George managed to sweet talk Oxford Bus after showing payment evidence. Our return tickets have been restored once he downloaded the Oxford Bus mobile app. So nothing will be washed away again 😩

We knew that Phuket doesn't offer anything culturally exciting - so our week here is pretty much sleep, eat, sunbathe, swim, eat and repeat. I find it hard to relax but we've been travelling for nearly 3 months so doing nothing for a while won't hurt.  So I probably won't have anything of interest to post until we move on ☺️ #rawai #Phuket #thailand

To say it is hot here early morning is an understatement. But the sweaty run up the hill  is rewarded by the amazing views across the southern tip of Phuket. It beats the freezing cold option of Abingdon 🌞 #phuket #thailand #rawai

We now enter our final 5 weeks away before returning to the UK! It has been difficult to decide how to spend these last few weeks to avoid the rain and also big costs.  I wanted to go to Australia but it is eye-watering in price. Getting there on an indirect flight is cheap but accommodation is so expensive. I also looked at Bali but it's the rainy season as with Philippines and other parts of Malaysia and Indonesia.  So we're back in Thailand and now in Phuket for a few days. We are staying at a quiet beach resort at the southern point near Promthep Cape which is really lovely. Especially as its far away from the tacky central resorts.  I have to say its one of the hottest places we've visited on our trip and you have to get out of the sun early afternoon or you will roast alive 🔥
