Our week in Koh Lanta is very relaxing. The island is very quiet compared to Phi Phi and Koh Samui.  Small local hotels and restaurants line the very long sandy beaches. There are no large chains so it's completely unspoilt.  We have a 100 metre walk (if that) to the beach to sit in the sea which is like a bath from early morning. It is by far the hottest weather we've experienced on our trip so far.  People who know me well would say I don't like sitting still for a few minutes to relax. Well you can't do anything but that here 😁 #Koh Lanta #Thailand #beach

We booked a slow ferry to Koh Lanta which would take about 4.5 hours and make a couple of stops. I also preferred this option to a speedboat. It's not like we were in a hurry 😂.  But when we got to Railay Beach we stopped offshore and were met by our onward transport to Koh Lanta - yep you guessed it - a speedboat 😱 It was actually quite a relaxing one hour ride zipping through the sea.  I shared a video on Facebook as we left Railay Beach.  We are staying at El Matcha which is a simple bungalow resort just two minutes walk from a quiet beach.  It's a lovely sandy beach that stretches as far as the eye can see.  My early morning exercise is sorted for the next few days!  #kohlanta #speedboat #ferry #elmatcharesort
