KL to Penang (22 November)

Our 4 hour train journey took us from KL to Butterworth, before boarding the 10 minute ferry crossing over to George Town on Penang Island. KL Sentral train station was far more serene than the hustle and bustle of London. We all had to sit patiently in the waiting area until our train was called.  Our train journey itself was very smooth and punctual. With pre-seat reservations required this avoided chaotic scenes to grab a seat.   When we arrived at Butterworth Station we had a short walk to the ferry terminal to make the final part of the journey to Penang.  You can get over to the island by road bridge or ferry. We opted for the ferry at 22p each.  Let's just say we won't be getting on that boat again. There were no clear safety measures being followed. Thank goodness the journey took only a few minutes.
