Seeing wild elephants

Today we made the road journey 80km south to Kui Buri National Park.

Kui Buri is considered Thailand’s premier elephant-watching destination. Unlike many parks where sightings are rare, here visitors have a good chance to see elephants in the wild (even though the park staff say it isn't guaranteed).  

The cost:

Entry to the National Park - 200 Baht each (£4.88)
Mandatory tour guide with jeep for our group - 850 Baht (£20 total)






We were incredibly lucky today - we saw at least 20 elephants over the 1.5 hours out in the jeep.  It was fantastic, and frankly amazing for the price paid, compared to other organised tours to elephant sanctuaries.  






If you have the chance, are near Hua Hin with some transport, I highly recommend it.

Highlights Cheap : Our British pounds stretched remarkably far and we only  spent a total of  £1440 per person. Time to go home

I sign off my travel blog with a brief post. Today we are heading home. George snored all night so I had no sleep - just ready for a long flight 😬 Cases are packed and both around 12kg each so well under the limit! 👜 It's been an amazing 4 month trip in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia by sea, water, coach and train. 🚂✈️🚌🚢 It's very difficult to say what was my favourite part of the trip but Luang Prabang, Koh Lanta and Langkawi were highlights.  I'm not looking forward to the UK weather and I also need to find a job. Onwards to KL

We left the lovely island of Langkawi this morning. Our next stop is Kuala Lumpur. I highly recommend this beach resort and hopefully I will return again one day 🏖️ #kualalumpur #malaysia #airasia
