Next island hop

12 November

We left the sleepy island of Koh Kood behind and took the Catamaran on the 1 hour journey up to Koh Chang.

Chang is Thailand 3rd largest island behind Phuket and Samui. It also has elephants and lots of Chang beer 😁🍺it is much more commercialised with many resorts along the small number of coastal beaches. And lots of restaurants and 7-Eleven shops in supply.

We're staying in a small resort called Kai Bae Beach Resort in a family sized garden bungalow.

We noted that one hotel reviewer complained about the walk from the garden bungalow to the room. I would like to point out that it takes 10 seconds to get there!

Sri Lanka: the highs and lows of a month long trip

After a month of exploring Sri Lanka, we've packed our bags, ready to head back to the UK. I want to share some of the highs and lows of our adventure. Highlights Cheap : Our British pounds stretched remarkably far and we only  spent a total of  £1440 per person. The breakdown: £750 - Etihad indirect flights (1.5 hour stop off in Abu Dhabi)  £690 - Bed & Breakfast, dinner, all transport (bus, train, taxi), cultural entrance fees, hospital treatment, laundry and grocery shopping.  The People : Incredibly warm and hospitable, very friendly and eager to help. They really enjoyed stopping for a friendly chat on the street, and we felt genuinely welcomed as English tourists. Scenery : The views were breathtaking, particularly the hill country from a train.  Weather : Consistently hot and sunny. To avoid the intense heat, we found it best to travel very early morning.  Lovely Beaches : Beautiful and clean, though the steep drop off and powerful waves made sw...

Time to go home

I sign off my travel blog with a brief post. Today we are heading home. George snored all night so I had no sleep - just ready for a long flight 😬 Cases are packed and both around 12kg each so well under the limit! πŸ‘œ It's been an amazing 4 month trip in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia by sea, water, coach and train. πŸš‚✈️🚌🚒 It's very difficult to say what was my favourite part of the trip but Luang Prabang, Koh Lanta and Langkawi were highlights.  I'm not looking forward to the UK weather and I also need to find a job. But I'm looking forward to seeing friends and family.  Until the next time πŸ‘‹ Tracy x

Onwards to KL

We left the lovely island of Langkawi this morning. Our next stop is Kuala Lumpur. I highly recommend this beach resort and hopefully I will return again one day πŸ–️ #kualalumpur #malaysia #airasia
